Why is my 2FA OTP returning an "Expired" error? 

 

The most common reason for two-factor authenticator not functioning correctly is that the clock on your phone is inaccurate. This can typically be rectified by following these steps:

Phone settings:
If you are using an Android phone, we suggest enabling the "Automatic date & time" option on the system Settings -> Date & time screen.

Google Authenticator Settings:
Then, open the Google Authenticator application, click "Settings -> Time correction for codes". This synchronises your phone and also the application along with it.

The XBit Asia systems are calibrated to allow some leniency with Google Authenticator codes but a good rule of thumb could be to attempt entering a new code as soon as it becomes available. If this doesn't work, waiting until the end of the code's validity period is also sometimes handy.
